The debut single of hers was released in 2015. The track received praise from music critics and listeners. The single peaked at 19th on both the Canadian Hot 100 as well as Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song among the 2015's Top Songs. The singer released her debut Know It All album in the same year. The third single, Scars to Your Beautiful was among five tracks which reached the top spots on Billboard including Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as Billboard Hot 100. The track is special since, in light of her interview with Rap-Up that she conducted, many of her listeners were able to connect to her experiences of finding love for themselves, as well as doubting herself. Cara is famous for including messages about mental health love and self-love into her songs. Every song Cara sings comes directly from her battle with insomnia, mental illness and other issues. Reuters reported that she called the album "half turbulent, and half finished". People have told her that she experienced growth in therapy. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was born on July 11, 1996, to parents with Italian heritage. Her first guitar was purchased from her parents at the time she was 10 years old, which sparked her passion for music. When she was 13, she started covering songs she adored on YouTube in order to show her fans that she was a talented artist and had the courage to pursue a career as a musician. A cover of one of her songs, Sweater Weather, was the one that got her attention. EP Entertainment gave her the chance to write and record her own tracks.
