In the year 2015, at age 19, she published her first debut single, Here. The track was highly praised by both critics and listeners. It reached 19th place in both Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the single one of its Best Songs in the year 2015. The same year she launched her first album Know It All, the song Scars to Your Beautiful ranked on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. The track was also one of the five original songs. According to an interview Cara gave in conjunction with Rap Up, the song held a lot in the minds of many people listening who were drawn to her tale of learning to accept and love yourself. Cara is known for incorporating the themes of mental health and love and self-love into her songs. The inspiration for her music is derived from her own struggle to conquer mental health issues and insomnia. In a Reuters' interview, she's described her album half tumultuous and half-perfected. She found that therapy helped her grow and urges other artists to follow the same path. Alessia Cara, a Canadian musician born in Canada on the 11th of July 1996, was a daughter of Italian descent parents. She was given a guitar from her parents at the time she turned 10 which ignited her musical passion. 2013 was the year she recorded the songs she loved for YouTube the most popular media platform. This was to demonstrate that she had both the ability and the confidence to become an artist. One of the songs Sweater Weather was able to get her attention by a label known as EP Entertainment which allowed her to write and create the tracks.
