She released her debut single Here in 2015 at the age of aged 19. The single garnered a lot of attention and was well-liked both by critics and listeners. It reached number 19 in both Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone listed the smash as one the the Top Songs of 2015. That same year, she dropped her debut album Know It All with the third track Scars to Your Beautiful being one of the five original songs which peaked on the Billboard charts including the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. This track was special since, in light of her Rap-Up interview she gave many of her listeners were able to connect to her experiences of discovering their own love and rethinking their beliefs about her. Cara's songs include messages of kindness as well as self-love and mental wellbeing. The music of Cara is directly from her struggles with insomnia, mental illness and other health issues. Reuters reported that she called the album "half tumultuous, half perfected". People have told her that she found her growth in therapy. Alessia Cara has been a Canadian musician since 1996. Her parents have Italian heritage. Her parents bought her a new guitar that she was able to use to develop her passion for the music. After three years, at 13, she began singing her most loved songs on YouTube. It was an excellent opportunity to show others her the talent and the courage. Indeed one of the covers Sweater Weather was able to get her noticed by a record label called EP Entertainment which allowed her to create and write her songs.
