At the age of 19, she released her debut single Here. It was a huge success and was praised by critics and listeners alike. It reached number 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the track one of the Top Songs in 2015. That same year she debuted her debut album Know It All, the single Scars to Your Beautiful ranked at the Billboard Hot 100 and Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. It also was one of the five original songs. It was different due to the fact that many listeners were able to relate to the conversation she conducted with Rap-Up about her struggle in learning to love and accept her. Cara's songs often include positive messages regarding mental health, and the importance of being self-love. Her inspiration for her music is derived from her own struggle to conquer mental health issues and insomnia. Reuters said that she described her album "half turbulent, and half finished". Her development was assisted by therapy. She advises other people when they need to reach out for support. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was born July 11th, 1996 to parents of Italian descent. Alessia Cara's parents bought her an instrument when she was just 10 years old. That was her first step with music. In the age of 13, she started covering songs she liked on YouTube in order to show people that she was a talented artist and was able to make a profession of an artist. One of the songs Sweater Weather was able to get noticed by a record label named EP Entertainment which allowed her to create and write the tracks.
