Coleman was born in Blackpool Lancashire. She was educated at Arnold School in Blackpool. In her time as headgirl, she scored straight A marks in her A Levels. Steven Moffat, the producer of Doctor Who confirmed in a 21st March 2012 press conference that Coleman will play Matt Smith's partner after Karen Gillan left. Moffat chose her for the part because she was the most effective when working with Smith and was able to speak faster than him. Eva is an entrepreneur and also an actress. She has been married three times who has a daughter from her second husband.
